EXCLUSIVE: MANY HOUSEHOLDS IN BRITAIN CUT BACK ON ENERGY CONSUMPTION IN RESPONSE TO COST OF LIVING RESULTING FROM RUSSIA/UKRAINE WAR
Following the new data revealed by the Office for National Statistics (ONS), has stated that its last research revealed a surge in households economizing their expenditures on sustenance and minimize inconsequential trips so as to save their finances.
The survey which was carried out between May 25 to June 5, fifty-two percent of households stated they that were consuming less fuel like gas and electricity at home due to major ascending major cost.
The energy bills according to ONS have increased by 54 percent, affecting people on a standard different energy tariff as month of April began when the price point on bills was altered.
There has also been a surge in number of consumers spending a little on sustenance and essentials. This has increased to 41 percent of households from 36 percent two weeks ago.
The survey also revealed that the number of those purchasing items fewer than expected has not decreased but increased instead, soaring to 46 percent from 44 percent previously.
The boggle-some figures occur after Consumer Price Index, (CPI), inflation skyrocketed to 9 percent in April which is to increase further this year. This has constrained people to minimise their trips to cope with the rising standard of living.
